Aspiration Energy is an innovative Solar Energy Services company based in India, providing decentralized solar thermal systems for industrial process heating. They offer solar energy generation systems that provide long term predictable low-energy costs on a unique monthly performance based energy payment by avoiding expensive and dirty fossil fuels by adopting proven technologies to both unutilized space and complex applications in the industry. Aspiration Energy offers renewable energy based heating solutions such as Solar systems, Heat Pumps, etc. to the industrial heating requirements. The uniqueness to their offering is that their business model of charging their customers not on the cost of the equipment, but on the amount of energy saved per month because of the heating solutions provided.

An important aspect for this business model is that they should be able to monitor the energy consumption of the heating system at all the times. Another important parameter of the heat pump system to be monitored is Coefficient of Performance (COP). COP is the ratio between amount of thermal energy delivered against the amount of thermal energy consumed by the system. It is an important measure that defines the efficiency of the system. The system parameters that are required to calculate the COP of the system are such as inlet temperature, outlet temperature, outlet flow & the energy consumed by the heating system.

For the measurement of energy & the COP of the heat pump system, the critical parameters to be monitored and diagnosed analytically are Inlet Temperature, Outlet Temperature, Outlet Water Flow and Energy Consumption.

Maxbyte as a digital transformation partner of Aspiration Energy, Maxbyte was able to enable this innovative and disruptive business model by harnessing the power of IIoT. Thingworx played a key role in design and development of an efficient and easy intuitive UI application easily and deploy the solution in a short time.

To meet the industrial energy as a service model the following architecture has been designed and implemented:
