Dave Martin is a Creo, Windchill, and PTC Mathcad instructor and consultant. He is the author of the books “Design Intent in Creo Parametric,” “Top Down Design in Creo Parametric,” and “Configuring Creo Parametric 4.0.”
He is currently a CAD and PLM administrator at Blue Origin. He has performed cable harness design on the New Shepard rocket and structural design on the first stage of New Glenn.
Previously, he worked at Amazon, where he was the Creo Parametric application specialist for Lab126, in charge of MCAD standards, training, and support. While at Lab126, he supported the release of several products, including Kindle readers, Fire tablets, FireTV, and Amazon Echo.
Dave transferred to Amazon Prime Air where he was a member of the Vehicle Design team, where he created schematics and performed cable harness design for several unmanned aerial vehicles for delivery of packages in 30 minutes or less. He was also the Creo Parametric administrator and implemented Windchill for Prime Air.
Dave spent 13 years as a Creo and Windchill instructor and consultant for PTC and various resellers. Prior to PTC, he was a structural analyst at Lockheed Martin and satellite design engineer at Boeing.
His MCAD specialties include Top Down Design, Routed Systems, and Surfacing. His PLM areas of expertise include BOM Management, Change Management, and Configuration Management.
He has a degree in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and is a former Armor officer in the United States Army Reserves and National Guard.
