TD152 - Breaking Down the Manufacturing Silo

Join the interactive business opportunity discussion to learn from your peers and share your experience.

Moving product design information from engineering to manufacturing is easier said than done. Stakeholders in both organizations might use the say information… yet they are viewing that information through different enterprise systems and in different formats (ie an engineering BOM vs a manufacturing BOM). The issue of transferring product information downstream (or back upstream) is more rampant than you’d think with many of the world’s top manufacturers striving to improve how changes are cascaded throughout the product lifecycle. By breaking down the silos that keep engineering and manufacturing from effectively communicating, organizations can see: faster time-to-market as product designs are handed off to production faster; improved first pass yields resulting in reduced rework; and automatically cascading changes enabling more flexibility and speed in implementing these changes.
