DEC41CA - Model Based Definition in Creo: A Driver For Manufacturing Automation for CMM

There is a big gap between your product design (the Model Based Definition) and your manufacturing processes. Take CMM (coordinate measuring machine) processes, for instance: manual transcription of hundreds of GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing) annotations is the norm but is extremely time consuming and expensive. In this age of Digital Transformation, operations should flow naturally from the Model Based Definition. By leveraging the PMI (product and manufacturing information) data in your Creo Parametric model, you can automate the generation of your CMM program - and seriously reduce your costs. This presentation will showcase a pilot of this automated manufacturing process carried out at Raytheon on production data. This presentation will share metrics for the time saved, and the ROI for adopting this approach - and you may be surprised.
