Rob Black

Managing Principal, Fractional CISO

Rob Black, CISSP, is the ""IoT Security Guy."" He is the Founder and Managing Principal of Fractional CISO. In this role, Rob helps clients acting as a Virtual CISO. Besides IoT and cybersecurity, Rob has extensive web services and cloud solutions experience. He has held product and corporate security leadership positions at PTC ThingWorx, Axeda and RSA Security. Rob received his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He holds two Bachelor of Science degrees from Washington University in St. Louis. One is in Computer Science and the other is System Science and Engineering. He is also a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). Rob is the inventor of three security patents. Many do not have actionable, prescriptive elements in them and sorting through all of them and their applicability can be a challenge for even the savviest IoT practitioner.
