Wes Tomer
Augmented Reality Training Specialist, Atlas Copco VTS
Wes has a strong background working with 3D CAD as a Mechanical Designer. From there he transitioned to lead an international program to bring Augmented Reality training to service technicians. He has focused on change management and adapting software. He creates training for the HoloLens 2 using JavaScript, Creo Illustrate and Vuforia Studio, and is training others to do the same. The result is self-guided learning where a technician can learn to physically tear down a vacuum pump and rebuild it.
Wes is inspired by the incredible user interface already built into the physical world. Instead of clicking a mouse on a 2D object, it is more natural to reach out and touch a 3D object. Everyone has personal inspiration. Jesus Christ has designed an amazing interface for humans to explore, with clear empathy for the end user. This enables exploratory learning, which is the foundation of science and technology. This same empathy for the end-user and creativity in design are essential to good UI. This is especially true of Augmented Reality.
