Additionally, he has an innate ability to connect the dots between technology and industrial end-users to deliver solutions with pragmatism and business outcome. In his current role, he is responsible for innovation and product development with a focus on leveraging integration between spatial computing for AR/MR, Cloud and Digital Thread.

AR1802I - Connected AR/MR for Manufacturing of High-precision Large-scale Components

Shipbuilding is characterized by extremely complex and large products that are specific to each customer (one-of-a-kind). 80% of cost is generated by outfitting elements like pipes as pipe routings are created first as physical mock-ups. Lead time and scrap are the major contributors to this cost. During this session, you’ll explore how full digital fabrication using AR/MR, minimized gaps between the physical & digital world of manufacturing large, high-precision components. Using Vuforia integrated with PTC's CAD Onshape solution, a significant reduction in lead time and elimination of material waste was achieved at pipe routing stages of the shipbuilding process as well as incredible tracking precision.
