Merck is a premier research-intensive biopharmaceutical company with strategic goals for the short term, near future, and long term to protect the present, build the future, and transform to remain competitive. They faced significant challenges due to the cost of training because of overtime costs and time to proficiency, due to the high cost of set-up errors, and because of errors leading to deviations in testing results which resulted in unexpected costs and delays.

Merck used Vuforia Expert Capture to create GATE, which is short for Guided/Augmented Task Execution. This solution provided a visual aid for just-in-time instructions and on-the-job assistance. It also delivers value by creating more efficiencies in execution and better adherence to safety and compliance guidelines.
