AL1396B - Increasing Product Complexity Meets Ever-growing Regulatory Requirements

The complexity in the development of cars has massively increased and will continue to increase. This leads to more complexity and requirements that developers need to adhere to. While ISO 26262 helps to bring functional safety to the automotive industry, it also creates many challenges. ISO 26262 is the internationally recognized risk-based safety standard that regulates the functional safety of automotive electrical and electronic systems. In this case study, we focus on practical insights into the successful implementation of ISO 26262, focusing on the non-safety-specific area of the standard. We will also go into vertical and horizontal traceability as part of a practical example.
