PL1113B - Leverage Cloud and SaaS for Improved Collaboration and Speed

TRUMPF is a world-leading machine tool manufacturer and laser specialist with a high engineering depth. PLM has always been an active area. Yet, our ability to leverage these structures to provide additional value to our customers needs to be improved by the scattering of highly specialized solutions and a lack of automation. Consolidation was a key factor. With diverse internal needs, an agile approach (“Reality Lab”) was chosen with PTC. A robust architectural framework, with a preference for cloud-based solutions, supports organization-wide adoption and guides the implementation, especially at the interface between IT solutions and software-dependent end-products. Starting with integrating CAD, Trumpf implemented the conditions to secure our business and engineering capabilities in the future and to establish true digital twins.
