Rosemary L Astheimer is an Assistant Professor of Practice at Purdue University. She has her BS in Mechanical Engineering and a MS in Software Engineering from Brandeis University. She is also Technologist Level Professional Certificatied in GDTP (Y14.5) - Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing from ASME. In 2019 she was the recipient of the Excellence in Instruction for Continuing Lecturers and also for Outstanding Faculty in Learning from the Department of Computer Graphics Technology.
Before joining Purdue in 2014, Astheimer spent over 15 years working in the CAD industry. Astheimer was a Creo Product Management Manager at PTC in the area of data exchange. Her in-depth experience with CAD, also including CATIA V4, V5, NX, and Solidworks filters into her instruction where she is training both undergraduate and industry professionals in CAD design, MBD, PDM and PLM.
Outside of work she is a mom, enjoys working out, watching Formula 1 racing, and sewing clothing. She is an active member and league coordinator of the LPGA Women Who Play Boston chapter and a coach for her son's FIRST Junior Lego League team.
